Message from the President of Saudi TESOL

Greetings to one and all. It is with both pride and pleasure that I am addressing you as the newly elected President of Saudi TESOL. Being the first to hold this office is, of course, a source of great personal and professional pride, but truly the most satisfying part of this new role is that it is at the head of an organization poised to exert an overwhelmingly positive influence on the quality of English language education in the Kingdom, touching on all public, private, elementary, secondary and university-level ELT programs.

As you know, Saudi TESOL’s mission statement focuses on establishing priorities for quality improvement and professional development for English language teaching, consultation and research in English language education. I look forward to getting to work immediately on enhancing and further developing our professional activities, including publications and partnerships both inside and outside of Saudi Arabia that will provide venues and opportunities for Saudi TESOL members to hone their professional skills and to stay abreast of developments in the ELT world beyond the borders of Saudi Arabia.

The roll-out of Saudi TESOL is an exciting time for all of us. The organization exemplifies one of the major facets of Vision 2030 that human resources are the Kingdom’s most valuable asset. And that includes each and every one of us.

Saudi TESOL is the premiere academic association for professionals engaged in the study, management and all other aspects of English language education in the Kingdom and, as such, it is YOUR organization. It represents all of you; it speaks for all of you; and it will thrive with your very necessary energy, your participation and your ideas.

So, welcome to Saudi TESOL! May we all progress together for the good of one student, for the good of all students, for the good of one teacher, for the good of all teachers, for the good of Saudi Arabia.
